March Craft Club

Happy Spring everyone!  Our weather here in Oregon has been beyond amazing if I do say so myself, hopefully yours is great as well.

Can you believe it is already April?  I am getting ready for my April craft club and realized I haven’t done my post for March.
The inspiration for March started with a fun tutorial from Sausha over at Sweet Pickins .  You have to check it out!  Have you ever tried creating floral wood?  It is so much fun, and with all of the patterned napkins, your opportunities are endless.
 screen-shot-2016-10-17-at-2-38-48-pm
I had so much fun creating the samples for this project.  A few of them were purely my own designs that I created.

My favorite part of the month is prepping for craft club. There is something about organized craft supplies that just makes my heart skip a beat!
 screen-shot-2016-10-17-at-2-38-33-pm
If all of The CRAFT House renovations go as planned, we should only be holding craft club in my home for 2 more months.  My goal is to be moved in by June 1st.

Ok, so they are all amazing.  But this one in particular is special.  As she was applying the napkins she had a few problems and started over.  Even on the second go around she had issues, so she bagged the whole napkin idea and resorted to paint.  The white paint on this old weathered board turned out amazing.  Then she added colorful clothes pins and I was in love!.

The recipes and pot holders that are clipped to the board are from her great grandma!  How sweet is this?!?  I love how it looks with all of her vintage jars!  Well done Courtney!

Thank you for stopping by!  Craft club is so much fun and has become such a passion for me.  I love getting to craft all the time and empower other women with the skills themselves!

I hope you have a fantastic DIY day!

Craft Club is Back!

After a 10 month break for obvious reasons (like a home remodel) and personal reasons, it was time to bring Craft Club back to the surface.  Over the last 10 months I got daily e-mails and texts asking begging to start craft club up again.
So in November of 2014 I did just that.
The new house addition has freed up so much space in our main living area which has proved to be a  perfect fit for craft club.
For the first month back we had a packed house with 16 eager women ready to craft.  We created States Wall art and as you will see there were a lot of Duck Fans in the house!
So many old friends showed up and stayed late into the night just having a great time laughing and creating.
For those guests that couldn’t make it, or wanted to create this craft on their own I created DIY kits for them to purchase, and those were a big hit with the ladies!
Moving into December I held an all day craft event where ladies could come and play all day or half the day, depending on their schedule.  I had a total of 32!!!  Yes 32 ladies throughout the day, and only ran out of 2 crafts.  To say it was amazing is an understatement.
We opened up the back part of the house and even used the laundry room as our gift wrap station.
The BEST moment of the day was everyone gathering around the TV to watch the 2014 Heisman Award Ceremony and watching our very own Duck, Marcus Mariota take home the trophy.  There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, and I am pretty sure the neighbors wondered what was going on with all the screaming ladies.  What a memory to cherish.  Ducks who craft together win together!!!
I truly am so blessed with the amazing people I have in my life, and am thankful for the continued support and encouragement on this journey.
I look forward to many more months of Craft Club ahead, and already have several on the books!  If you are local to Eugene, be sure to follow me on Pinterest and Facebook for craft club details!

February Craft Club { SIGNS & WREATH STANDS }

It is that time again!  February Craft Club was a huge success.  I have had such an overwhelming response that this month I ended up doing 2 workshops in one day.  I am forever grateful for the outpouring of support from my old friends and new friends with this crafty endeavor.
This month we built sign/wreath stands inspired by the very talented ladies over at Shanty-2-Chic!  We modified it just a tad, but you can find the full tutorial for the project here.
 Originally I was only going to allow for 16 attendees because that is the amount I can comfortably fit in the space.  In the end I had a total of 19 women attend and we built a total of 28 stands!  My sweet husband helped get all of the wood precut and I had to snap a picture of the beautiful pile!
Over the course of about a week I spent time gathering supplies and getting them all sorted and organized for the ladies.  I ended up going back to Lowes and buying them out of the finials.  Sorry to anyone else in Lane County wanting to build this!
Because we were going to be painting, sanding and building, we decided it was best to protect our new floors by laying paper down.  Smart move, all the ladies had fun and didn’t have to worry about getting messy.
The first set of ladies were here from 2-4pm and there was only 6, so it was pretty quiet.  I must say it was a change from the normal craft club group, but it was a great time.
I then had the 2nd workshop from 6-8pm, which typically turns into 9pm and sometimes as late as midnight!  I love my midnight crafters!
Some of these women went wild over the thought of using power tools, and I don’t blame them!  I can’t wait to start incorporating more of them into my workshops!
At the end of the night, this nice gentleman (the Hubby) had to come rescue a crafter who was busy building this stand for a fellow crafter that couldn’t make it.
Of course he had a solution to her problem and was on his way!
At the end of the night it is my goal to get a picture of everyone with their completed projects although sometimes we all forget!  Here are some of them on their way out the door!
These ladies did not want to be seen in their “grubby” clothes that I had instructed them to wear.
And here are a few of the posts in their new homes.  I love when my crafters send me pictures of their crafts in use!
This month was such a success and I cannot wait to do it again in March!  I also have some VERY exciting new coming up in the next week that I am dying to share with you all.  I truly never thought I would be on this journey of crafting and friendship with such amazing support!  So thank YOU for being just that!

I hope you have a fantastic DIY day!

April Craft Club { Pallet Fun}

This year is flying by.  It’s been 6 months straight of crafting fun and it gets better every single time.
This month was all about the pallet.  Pallets are all the rage right now, so I wanted to incorporate them into craft club somehow.
There were three crafts to choose from.  A simple handled tray, a set of chevrons or a set of arrows.
I set the room a little different this month, which threw most ladies for a loop.  They are so used to assigned seating with their friends, but this time is was based on which craft they chose.  It was time to get to know your neighbor.
Each table had all of the supplies and tools needed to finish each project.
As you can see in this photo, the long table was for the trays, which proved to be the favorite project of the night.
And in preparation of the big move to The Craft House, I brought out the new sign!
I’ve been buying all new tools for The Craft House over the last couple months, and got to whip out these two new drills this month.  They are the perfect sized drills for beginners and a very handy tool to have on hand.
I also had a little more fun with the food this month, and somehow only got one picture of it.  But these were a big hit!
This month had such a great response that we had 2 sessions that were a few people away from being totally sold out.  It was so fun to see all of the team work as they navigated through the use of new tools.
This girl right here has a heart of GOLD!  She’s the most adorable preggo mama there is, and it gets better…. she’s a surrogate mama.  Truly the most amazing and selfless gift anyone could give!
 Check out all of these amazing projects!
The morning after craft club I always get up, turn on music and pack everything away.  Not this time…. I woke up and realized I had a few left over supplies and a huge craft room all to myself.
I went to work and finished the few supplies that were left, and sold them right away!  Here is what I came up with.

I have a few of these arrows left if anyone is still interested, but everything else has sold!

I truly am so blessed with the amazing people I have in my life, and am so thankful for your support and encouragement on this journey.
I look forward to many more months of Craft Club!  If you are local to Eugene, be sure to follow me on Pinterest and Facebook for craft club details!

May Craft Club { String Art }

May has come and gone like its nobody’s business!  There was only three weeks between April and May craft clubs due to Memorial day weekend, and now I cannot believe June has already arrived.  Time flies when you are having fun!!
This months craft club was string art!  I cannot tell you how many requests I got for this one!
Again this month I had two workshops, and early crowd and a late crowd.  Love them both and they filled right up!
Here are some of the finished projects from the first workshop.
I always leave a 2 hour gap between sessions so that I have enough time to clean up and prepare for the next group.
Most of the time I have crafters that run over the set time (which is ok by me) but this time I actually had a chance to pour myself a cold beverage between groups.  The drink of the day was electric lemonade.  Delicious!!
My second group of ladies wasted no time diving in and getting started, that’s what I love about my repeat crafters!
And here are their finished projects!
You may have noticed a few of them did some free hand art, and I especially love this one.  “Be Free”
And of course I am pretty partial to this one too.  It is the exact same color as my wall (thank you paint sample) and the same trellis style.   Adorbs!!
And did you know that with most of the crafts you can purchase kits to go?  All you need to have is the paint and tools and I provide everything else!  Here is one of our crafters finishing up her hearts at home with her grandson.  How fun is that??
Thank you so much for stopping by and seeing what is going on over at the Craft House!  I sure love these events and look forward to the next one in less than a week!

June Craft Club { DIY Crates }

Hello friends!  What a crazy summer we are having out here in Oregon.  Busy days and hot weather oh my!
Today I am sharing a quick post about my June Craft Club.
I came up with design using some wood that I had on hand, but you could do this using large paint stir sticks if you wanted to.  I used 1×6 for the end pieces and ran the slats around all three sides.
Guests were able to make two crates and had the option to paint or stain them, I personally loved every finish!
For one of my samples I added a little bit of chalkboard paint and some small pots to create an indoor herb garden.
I ended up adding some leftover handles from a previous craft club on my herb garden for my kitchen.
I created a simple stained one as well and staged it to hold some fun file folders.  On the day of the event, it held all of the sanding blocks, which is now their new home!  I love how things work out the way they do.
On another sample I used some mason jars and created a flower arrangement, of course using my favorite peonies.  I wish this would have lasted forever because it looked amazing on my mantle.
This month as guests arrived, they were greeted with my newest chalkboard that now sits on the porch.
Once inside, guests noticed another chalkboard on the supply table… surprise, it’s July’s craft club sneak peek.  I can’t tell you how giddy I am about this one!  These chalkboards are amazing, and to useful!
I also purchased a new toy just for this months craft club.  Brand new Ryobi One Air Strike stapler.  This is my new favorite in the workshop for sure!
These ladies dove right in and started working on their projects.  Did I mention that it was 100 degrees outside that day?  Yowsa!  Luckily I have an amazing A/C that kept it at 74 inside!
Look at all these colors and all these crates those ladies were working on.
And of course, craft club is never complete without finished product pictures, enjoy!
That is all for now friends!  Please be sure to follow me on Pinterest and Facebook, and head over here to see where I like to party each week!
I hope you have a fantastic DIY day!

July Craft Club { Easel Chalkboards }

July’s Craft club was inspired by the talented ladies over at Shanty-2-Chic.  Head over here to see the plans for these fun chalkboards.
The house was packed, in fact I ended up with two sessions on Saturday and One on Sunday morning!  These were such a big hit and I love empowering women with power tools and teaching them how to build on their own!
As you can tell, a lot of time it is a group effort, but that is what makes Craft Club fun!
Someone was not a fan of the sound from seasoning chalkboards….
Out back is where everyone was sent if they wanted to sand or stain their boards.  It was sweltering hot that day, but worth every drip of sweat.
And of course, no one leaves The CRAFT House without a picture of their completed project.
We have so much fun at craft club and would love to have you join us if you are local to the Eugene/Springfield Oregon area.

Ladies Night Out Craft Events { The CRAFT House }

For those of you that are new to my blog, welcome!  I host DIY Workshops/Craft Clubs each month here in Oregon. I have also recently started offering private VIP craft events.
Today I am sharing a few details about those fun parties.
The hostess of the event selects the project that she would like to do with her own group of friends or family.  Each guest then pays a flat fee to attend (if we are making a single project) or they pay for each item they make (if creating multiple items)
The space is limited to 20 guests, I provide all the materials needed and they provide their own food and drink.  The structure is similar to my monthly events, with a few small adjustments.
I hosted one private event in November, one private evenet and one all day event in December.  I was a busy crafter for sure!
Here are some photos of those events for you to enjoy.
 These events are so much fun and I look forward to many more in the upcoming year!  I met some amazing women who even signed up to attend the January and February workshops.
If you are in Oregon and are interested in attending a workshop, I would love to have you join in the fun.  Check out all of the Craft Club information here or find us over on Facebook.

August 2015 Craft Club { DIY Clip Boards }

This post may contain affiliate links, for full disclosure click here

For our August workshop I created these fun Clipboard stands that can be used for so many different things.  If you would like to see the full DIY tutorial, click here.

One of my favorite things these days are all of the amazing free printables you can find all over the internet.  I have an entire Pinterest page dedicated to ones I love and you can find that here.  All of the printables you will see used for this event were not created by me, and are all available via pinterest and the original creators websites.

One of the ways I use these fun clip boards in our home is for the kids’ chore charts.  I used Velcro to attach them to the side of our fun lockers.

This was such a fun project with many different options, but it all started with some basic MDF that my sweet lumber boy at Home Depot cut for me.  Did you know they will do that?  It’s true, such a timesaver for this girl!

One of my favorite things about Craft club is getting to set everything up.  Each space is set with all of the supplies needed along with the attendees name tag/punch card and a cute mason jar for a tasty beverage.

Since it was later summer I had an abundance of produce in my garden that needed to be eaten.  Mainly cucumbers, tomatoes and basil.  I also made the mini pumpkin pies from Jen at Tatertots & Jello, which were amazing!  All of the appetizers were a big hit, especially the spinach dip filled cucumbers.  Makes me anxious for summer again!

One of my favorite things about craft club is seeing ladies come together, some friends, some strangers, but always having a great time.
